Meet The Teacher: Sahar Shaikh
Sahar Shaikh is a freshman in college at Irvine Valley College. She loves volunteering and is helping out at her local animal shelter and hospital. She also enjoys DIY projects like crocheting and making clothes. She’s getting into baking and cooking more on her own. Traveling and photography is another passion of hers, and she also plays soccer for fun! A fun fact about Sahar is that she's had over 100 cats in her life! Her favorite part about biology is understanding how the smallest processes play such a huge role in how we function. She thinks it’s amazing to see how everything ties together to keep us alive. One of the most memorable moments for her was when we extracted DNA from strawberries in a lab. She says it was such a simple experiment, but actually seeing those strands made genetics feel so real and tangible.
