Chemistry
FRIDAYS 5-6 PM PST
The purpose of the Fundamentals of Chemistry course is to give students a basic understanding of the ideas and principles of chemistry. Students will learn about the fundamental components of matter, chemical processes, and the fundamental rules that control chemical interactions during this six-week course. The objective of the course is to make chemistry interesting and approachable for students with little or no prior knowledge of the topic.
Course Syllabus:
Week 1: The Periodic Table
Week 2: Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding
Week 3: States of Matter
Week 4: Chemical Reactions and Equations
Week 5: Stoichiometry
Week 6: Solutions and Solubility
Fun Fact -
The sun’s heat and light come from nuclear fusion reactions, mainly combining hydrogen to make helium!
